After Said El Mala had to pull out of Wednesday’s training due to an ankle knock, 1. FC Köln can now breathe a sigh of relief.
According to local outlet Geissblog, which follows the club closely, the 19-year-old didn’t suffer a serious injury.
In fact, he can continue training with a tape bandage and doesn’t need to take any time off.
As a result, El Mala is expected to be fit to start Köln’s derby clash against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday.
Köln have also been boosted by the news that Jan Thielmann returned to team training on Thursday after recovering from a muscle injury.
The 23-year-old could potentially be included in the squad for the Gladbach match as well.
