Nürnberg continued their excellent form with a deserved victory in Dresden, while Fürth left it late to take all three points against Münster.

2. Bundesliga’s fastest goal of the season helped Nürnberg to a 2-1 victory in Dresden, while Fürth returned to winning ways against Münster thanks to a late goal.

Dynamo Dresden 1-2 1. FC Nürnberg

Dynamo Dresden have only beaten fellow newly-promoted side Arminia Bielefeld in the first 11 matchdays, and they were behind even before any of their players touched the ball here. Rafael Lubach converted from Artem Stepanov’s cutback to put Nürnberg ahead inside the first 14 seconds.

At the half-hour mark, Mohamed Ali Zoma’s bicycle kick threatened to double the scoreline, but Lennart Grill pulled an impressive save. The hosts had very little going on in the final third before leveling the score in the first-half injury-time. In his first start since the win over Bielefeld, Dominik Kother scored with an emphatic finish.

Nürnberg’s goal was the quickest in the league this season, and Der Club struck once again right after the restart. In the 51st minute, the right-back Tim Janisch smashed it home from yet another excellent buildup play by the visitors. Grill prevented another goal when Lubach nearly extended Nürnberg’s lead a couple of minutes later.

The hosts improved after that goal, but they were unable to test the young goalkeeper Jan Reichert until an injury-time free-kick by the substitute Konrad Faber. Nürnberg extended their unbeaten run to five matches as they won back-to-back games for the first time this season.

Greuther Fürth 1-0 Preußen Münster  

The other Friday night game was also tied at the half-time break. However, there was very little action in terms of attacking football between Fürth and Münster. The hosts thought they took the lead around the half-hour mark, but Noel Futkeu’s strike was chalked off by VAR because of an offside call.

Thomas Kleine took off Yassine Bouchama, who was the only cautioned player in the first 45 minutes, at the half-time break. Fürth’s coach also did the same to Mikkel Kirkeskov five minutes after he saw a yellow card early in the second-half.

Curiously, his replacement, Luca Bolay, also went into the referee’s handbook seconds after joining the game. Münster improved after the break, but both teams seemed to lack the quality to nick the three points in a hard-fought encounter.

However, that’s changed in the 95th minute. Jannik Dehm scored with a spectacular effort from outside the box. With only a single point from the last five matches, that goal probably saved Kleine’s job ahead of the international break.
