26yo striker convinced by Arsenal project, ready to reject Chelsea

Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres is prepared to snub Chelsea for a move to Arsenal this summer, according to Portuguese outlet A Bola.

The 26-year-old has been in phenomenal form for the Portuguese champions this term. He has netted 52 goals and provided 13 assists.

Gyokeres is prepared to make the next step in his career next season and Sporting CP are ready to sell him for a package of €70-75 million.

Arsenal have already made a contact offer on the table. Chelsea are also in the mix, but Gyokeres has been convinced by Mikel Arteta‘s project.

The Gunners have not made a formal bid for the marksman and they are expected to wait until the end of the campaign before doing so.

Sporting CP are just goal difference ahead of second-placed Benfica in the Primeira Liga ahead of the last matchday this weekend.

The duo will face each other in the Portuguese Cup as well. Sporting CP don’t want any distractions ahead of the final two games.
