Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres is reportedly determined to join Arsenal this summer, according to Correio da Manha.
The 27-year-old had a fantastic 2024/25 campaign with the Portuguese champions, scoring 54 goals and providing 13 assists in all competitions.
He has his sights on pursuing a bigger challenge away from Sporting, but as things stand, no club has met their £80 million valuation.
Arsenal have so far made a proposal of around £55.6 million including add-ons and they are reportedly planning to make a renewed offer.
Amidst this, it is claimed that Gyokeres is determined to join the Gunners and that remains his prime objective once he returns from holiday.
Gyokeres has already informed Sporting CP that he does not want to play for the club anymore and won’t be reporting for pre-season training.
It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will make a stronger effort to purchase him. It could depend on their move for Benjamin Sesko failing to materialise over the next week or so.
