Marcus Rashford makes immediate impact on his return to Man United with a STUNNING finish five minutes into the Red Devils’ Premier League clash against Wolves

Marcus Rashford made an immediate impact on his return to Manchester United‘s starting XI by opening the scoring for the Red Devils against Wolves. 

The 26-year-old has been at the centre of a media storm after he was spotted at a Belfast nightclub the night before he failed to report for training, citing illness.

Rashford was absent from United’s FA Cup win against Newport County on Sunday, but returned to starting XI on Thursday after ‘taking responsibility’ for his actions following talks with manager Erik ten Hag. 

The England international immediately repaid the favour with a curled effort from the edge of the area after only five minutes at Molineux. 

The goal was just his fifth in the Premier League this term, though his third in as many league matches.

Rashford was mobbed by his team-mates after scoring but gave a muted celebration

In a strange twist of fate, Rashford scored the winner after coming off the bench following a disciplinary issue in last season’s meeting of the teams in the West Midlands. 

The forward had been dropped by Ten Hag for being late for a team meeting. Rashford accepted the punishment from his manager after revealing he had overslept.

Speaking at the time, the England star said: ‘Obviously it’s the rules. It’s a mistake that can happen.

‘I was disappointed not to start but I understand the decision. I was happy we managed to win the game anyway, so we can draw a line under it. I was late for a meeting – I overslept.’
