The Spanish FA have been urged to investigate Jude Bellingham‘s alleged slur towards Mason Greenwood during Real Madrid‘s win over Getafe.
The clash between Bellingham and Greenwood is one of several incidents reported by La Liga to the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).
‘It must also be reported that after the end of the match, messages were detected through social media regarding a possible incident in which visiting player Jude Bellingham allegedly insulted local player Mason Greenwood in English,’ the incident report noted.
‘Numerous media outlets have reported on this incident, as evidenced in the attached incident report.’
Bellingham had landed a crunching tackle on the Getafe player to force the ball out of play, and when footage of the incident circulated on social media, fans believe they noticed the England international mutter the word ‘rapist’ at the forward.

Greenwood had previously been charged with attempted rape, assault, and coercive behaviour in January 2022 but charges were dropped on February 2023 by the Crown Prosecution Service following the withdrawal of key witnesses.
The 22-year-old forward mutually agreed to leave former side Manchester United on loan following the conclusion of an internal investigation into the player’s conduct.
Following the incident at Getafe, a lip reader exclusively told Mail Sport that the insult Bellingham used on Greenwood was in fact ‘rapist’
In the aftermath of the clip’s circulation on social media, Getafe decided to take action, asking the game’s referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea to record the alleged insult in his match report.
Doing so could yet subject Bellingham to a disciplinary procedure from the Spanish football federation (RFEF), although without audio, it could be a hard case to prove.
Getafe have also reported the incident to the LaLiga delegate present at Estadio Coliseum to record the alleged insult, although the club has not levelled a formal complaint at Bellingham.
The incident report also noted alleged racist chanting towards Vinicius Jr from Getafe fans on a recording on social media, which coincided with Real Madrid’s team bus arrived at the Estadio Coliseum.
The report stated: ‘A recording is detected among the crowded crowd, in which numerous local fans sing intolerant chants, individually hearing the cries of “sons of b**ches,” “Vinicius, monkey”, being accompanied by several fans with the chant, “Puta Real Madrid”.
Vinicius, who has repeatedly been targeted with racial slurs in Spain, has become a leader in the fight against racism in Spanish football.

LaLiga also reported alleged racist abuse aimed at Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr, left, by fans
Spanish prosecutors are seeking four-year jail terms for four men arrested on suspicion of hanging a dummy of the Brazilian international from a bridge, ahead of a Real Madrid match against Atletico Madrid in January 2023.
Vinicius, 22, released a damning statement last May saying the racial abuse he has received while playing in Spain is ‘inhuman.’
The winger has been targeted with racism and hateful messages on 10 separate occasions and has been subjected to death threats from rivals fans at some away games this season.
The latest incident has been reported to the RFEF Competition Committee and the Anti-Violence Commission.
LaLiga also noted that Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos had also been targeted with chants by home supporters.
The report noted that a group of fans had chanted ‘he’s a redneck, Ceballos is a redneck’ in the 60th minute of the match, with another group detected chanting ‘Ceballos, gypsy’ as the midfielder was substituted four minutes later.
The Spanish FA have been asked to investigate several incidents from the match on February 1
LaLiga said that Getafe had followed the correct protocols after crowd incidents during the match.
‘The club reacted immediately after each of the incidents described above, activating the protocol it has established, issuing a clear message through the stadium’s public address system,’ LaLiga said.
The message ‘Getafe CF informs that during the development of the match any act, demonstration or chants that incite violence, racism, xenophobia and intolerance in sport are strictly prohibited’, was also shown on the stadium’s scoreboards.
Real Madrid ultimately won the match 2-0 against Getafe, with Joselu scoring twice to secure a 2-0 victory.
