A St Mirren fan seemed to think better of their plans after evading a group of stewards on Wednesday.

The Scottish Premiership side picked up a handy 2-0 win over Dundee at SMiSA Stadium, with Mikael Mandron and Toyosi Olusanya on the score sheet for Stephen Robinson’s team.

Kick-off for the game was delayed by 30 minutes due to the Dundee team bus getting stuck in traffic, with supporters reportedly only finding out the news 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.

During the wait for kick-off, with the stadium quiet, a section of home fans suddenly rose and made their ways to the front of one of the stands, seemingly angry at the visiting supporters.

While the majority were cut off by stewards, one supporter did get through. Not for long, though – turning back on their own accord.

It is reported that the reason for the anger was because the away fans had stoles a St Mirren flag before kick-off.

Footage filmed from the away end inside the ground showed around 20 home fans heading for the bottom of the stairs, seemingly trying to get to the away fans.

Four stewards could be seen making their ways over and blocking the supporters from doing so.

While a couple made it over the barrier, one evaded stewards and appeared to have a free run at the away supporters, with one steward half-attempting to stop them before giving up.

As the supporter, who had their face covered, turned around to see who had joined them, they were met with the disappointment that they were alone.

They could be seen turning around and walking back into the stands, squeezing through stewards to get back behind the barrier.

The fan was mocked by the away fans for their actions, though the home side had the last laugh on the field as increased the gap in the league table between themselves and their opponents.
