Recap: Lille-Brest Play to One Goal Draw

Brest recorded seven total shots in the first half while Lille countered with four total shots but neither team could break the scoreless deadlock in the first 45 minutes. In the second half, the scoring picked up.

Jonathan David maintained his impressive form in 2024, notching the opening goal for Les Dogues in the 67th minute. The goal also marked David’s third consecutive league game with a goal.

Brest didn’t take long to respond as Urugyuan attacker Martín Satriano leveled the scoring in the 79th minute. Both teams generated a lot of offense in the final 45 minutes as the two squads had nine total shots each.

Neither squad could find their second goal to secure all three points and improve their situation atop the Ligue 1 table. Even with the draw, Brest remain in second place while Lille occupies fourth place with AS Monaco in between them for third place.

Eric Roy and his team will look for a bounce-back performance to maintain their Champions League position next season when they face FC Lorient on March 31. As for Lille, they have a showdown scheduled for March 29 against RC Lens, who currently trail Brest by five points.
