Bernardo Silva has joked his Portugal team-mate Jota Silva has an uncanny resemblance to Man City star Jack Grealish and even went as far as taking a selfie with his compatriot to show the England forward.

The Portuguese duo are in camp ahead of their side’s friendlies against Sweden and Slovenia over the next fortnight. On Tuesday, they sat down to speak to reporters about the upcoming games.

The conversation between the players and the journalists somehow moved to talk on the similarities between Jota and Grealish. Bernardo then appeared to chuckle, before saying: ‘I’m going to send Jack [Grealish] a selfie.’

A person from outside the press conference’s live stream was then seen handing the Man City midfielder a mobile phone, with the pair coming together to smile, before taking the picture.

Jota, 24, who plays for Vitoria de Guimaraes received his first call-up to Roberto Martinez’s senior side this week alongside fellow rookie Francisco Conceicao.

Bernardo also joked that he wanted to pull a prank on Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola

‘And maybe I’ll take Jota to Manchester to fool Guardiola!,’ he said, laughing.

‘There are similarities. When the conference is over I’ll send Jack a photo.’

The funny exchange comes after Bernardo Silva announced that he could finish his career away from Man City on Tuesday

He has been a key player since he arrived at the Etihad back in 2017, having also inked a new one-year deal in 2026.

Reflecting on whether he could make a romatic return back to Benfica, Silva said: ‘How far am I from returning? I think people are a bit tired of that question. It’s been a long time,’ he told SIC, via SAPO Desporto

‘I’m sure I’ll be back, I don’t know when, it’s hard to time it and say if it’s in two years’ time, in three years’ time, if it’s next year with [current Benfica boss] Roger Schmidt [laughs].

‘But I’ve said it several times and I think people get tired of hearing it: without a doubt it’s a career and life goal to return to Benfica.’

Grealish, meanwhile, has been hampered by a groin injury in recent weeks, which he appeared to initially sustain during City’s 3-1 Champions League victory away to FC Copenhagen.

He’d return for last month’s Manchester derby, but again seemed to aggrivate the injury, spending the next three games sidelined before returning to be an unused substitute during their FA Cup quarter-final victory against Newcastle last weekend.
