Former France international says Mbappe has already served his time at PSG

The name in fashion at this time of year is still Kylian Mbappe, as it has been for many months now.

That is the case not only in Spain, where his name appears continuously in the press because of his alleged ‘romance’ with Real Madrid, but also in his own country.

The moment Emiliano Martinez went from hero to villain in 2022 World Cup Final

The latest to make waves was the appearance of former France international Christophe Dugarry, the 1998 World Cup winner, who was on a chat show hosted by another former French footballer, Jerome Rothen, and uttered a harsh phrase: “Mbappe has already served his time”.

Will Mbappe leave PSG?

Dugarry was emphatic about what he thinks of the Paris Saint-Germain striker, implying that his time at the Parisian club has come to an end.

“I think Mbappe has already served his time at PSG. Whether we like Mbappe or not, I have the impression that on the pitch he has not cheated, he has given what he had to give,” he commented.

Later, he added in the broadcast on RMC: “He is an extraordinary player and we always expect more and he must say as soon as possible that he will not stay at PSG, I think it would be a form of elegance and a form of maturity. Honestly, I think he knows he won’t stay at the club.”

In response to Dugarry‘s statement, Rothen was also categorical and agreed with his former team-mate: “I say it again and again, I don’t mind talking about it. All I can know is that, in my opinion, he’ll make the decision pretty quickly.”

Rothen was cautious because of PSG‘s next Champions League tie against Real Sociedad in the last 16: “Maybe it’s not smart to do it that way, but in any case I’m still convinced that the club will have the upper hand on his decision. The club must also build without Kylian Mbappe, but will he be able to communicate easily if he comes out announcing it before such an important game against Real Sociedad?”
