Kate Abdo’s boxing trainer boyfriend Malik Scott joins CBS pundits for dinner after the presenter admitted she was ‘hurt’ by Jamie Carragher’s joke on live TV

Kate Abdo’s boyfriend, Malik Scott, was seen attending a pre-match meal with the rest of the CBS Sports pundits ahead of the Champions League quarter-finals.

Abdo has been enjoying a season of broadcasting success, covering Europe’s top competition alongside Jamie Carragher, Thierry Henry and Micah Richards for overseas audiences.

After going public with her relationship with the boxing trainer, former Liverpool defender Carragher, last month, joked live on air that Abdo hadn’t been loyal to her other half.

Abdo recently admitted she was left ‘feeling a little bit hurt’ by the comment but it looks as though they’ve moved past it after they were all pictured together.

Scott took to Instagram on Wednesday night to share a picture alongside the punditry four-some ahead of Arsenal and Man City‘s respective games.

In a caption to the picture, Scott wrote: ‘Pre-Game Meal with The Best Panel in sports’.

In the picture, Abdo was placed between Scott and her three punditry partners, who put on big grins and as they posed for the photo.

Funnily enough, Scott appeared to incorrectly tag Thierry Henry, who does not have an Instagram page. Instead, he tagged a fan account for the former striker.

Last month, in a bizarre moment on-air, Carragher jokingly questioned Abdo’s loyalty to her partner, Scott.

The incident came about after Carragher donned an Arsenal shirt during CBS’s live coverage after being asked to do so by Bukayo Saka.

Co-pundit Micah Richards had also worn the shirt previously, prompting the former Liverpool defender to suggest Thierry Henry and presenter Abdo should be next to wear the Arsenal top on-air.

Carragher said: ‘You (Henry) can wear it next and for the last part (of the show) you (Abdo) have got to wear it,’ he told his colleagues.

Abdo swiftly responded, ‘No, I’m loyal,’ she said before adding, ‘to Manchester United, thank you very much,’ when asked by Carragher who she was loyal to.

Scott revealed that his relationship with Abdo is ‘very, very different’ to any he has previously had and that he hopes to marry the 42-year-old

‘You’re not loyal to Malik,’ the ex-Liverpool defender replied, in reference to her boyfriend, Scott.

The wisecrack did not go down too well, with Abdo replying ‘What? How can you even say that?’

Earlier this week, the CBS Sports presenter spoke again on the comments, claiming that they had ‘hurt’.

‘What Jamie said came from nowhere,’ Abdo told iFLTV. ‘It was just a quick line, it was meant to be funny, sometimes they hit, sometimes they don’t.

‘That one went a little bit sideways. I felt a little bit hurt but it is what it is. You move on. We talked about it, we’re all good, nothing really to talk about.’

Scott recently addressed the viral clip as well, insisting that he was not insecure about the situation.

Scott stressed that if the comments had 'upset' his partner, it would have been 'a big deal'

‘Some people might say what do you think about the jokes about Kate and Thierry? All of that stuff is all good man, I’ve never been a man who has been insecure in a relationship,’ the boxing trainer told Inclave Casino.

‘I don’t know how to go about jealousy and things of that nature. I enjoy the show, the relationships, the love, and whatever makes the chemistry pop for the show, as long as Kate is not disrespected or irritated.

‘I don’t have insecurities or jealousy when someone I’m seeing is working around other men, as long as she’s being respectful and she’s being respected, I’m totally fine with it. None of this is a problem until she’s upset or irritated.

‘I love the show, I love the chemistry they all have, I love the antics and it’s a beautiful thing. It’s a very special show and it has a very special girl on there and she’s about to be Mrs Scott soon.’
