Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior during the January transfer window.

The Poland international was expected to leave Arsenal following the arrival of Riccardo Calafiori, but the Gunners opted to snub significant interest from Italy in order to keep Kiwior at the club.

Bologna, Inter Milan, Fiorentina, AC Milan and Napoli were all interested in signing Kiwior this summer, while a swap deal involving Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman was also touted as a possibility.

However, the 24-year-old was unable to seal a summer exit and he remains an Arsenal player.

Kiwior is yet to feature for Mikel Arteta’s side this season and he was even excluded from the club’s matchday squad to face Wolverhampton Wanderers on the opening day.

As a result, he continues to be linked with a departure and Chelsea are now eyeing a January move, according to TBR Football.

Jakub Kiwior to Chelsea?

Chelsea’s lavish spending under Todd Boehly shows no sign of slowing down and they are reportedly keen on signing Kiwior amid his uncertain role at Arsenal.

The Polish defender has mostly featured at left-back since arriving in the Premier League and Chelsea are seemingly keen to sign a reinforcement in that position, despite the summer acquisition of Renato Veiga.

Ben Chilwell is expected to leave Stamford Bridge in 2025, if he is unable to seal a move to Turkey within the next few days, and this could free up space for Kiwior.

The former Spezia star has made 38 appearances since joining Arsenal in January 2023, and he is also wanted by Aston Villa and Brighton & Hove Albion, as per TBR Football.

Although Arteta reportedly convinced Kiwior to stay at Arsenal this summer, the Poland international is arguably the Gunners’ fourth-choice left-back and an exit in 2025 seems to be on the cards.
