Liverpool are reportedly prepared to sign Manchester United target Jarrad Branthwaite when the transfer window reopens in January.
The Merseyside giants were linked with multiple players last summer, but they signed just one outfield player in the form of Federico Chiesa.
The club are expected to make a huge outlay next year and Daily Mail claim that they are ready to swoop for Branthwaite from Everton.
United were determined to land the Englishman in the last transfer window, but their highest bid of £55m did not persuade the Toffees.
The Merseyside outfit were eyeing at least £70m for the centre-back and refused to accept anything less for his services.
United ended up signing Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt, but reports have claimed that the club could return for Branthwaite too.
Liverpool are now preparing to hijack United’s pursuit of the defender. They are ready to make a winter bid for the 22-year-old.
Arne Slot‘s side appear willing to pay closer to the £70m price tag.
