Arsenal were struggling in their bid to return to the force of the Invincible era, and were stuck in a rut of European qualification but no titles to go with it. And they suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Hull City at the start of the 2008-09 season.
There had been little expectation on the newly-promoted side at the Emirates, and that didn’t change when an own goal put the hosts ahead. But a dramatic turnaround meant Hull left with all three points and an iconic victory.
