Xhaka reacts to Liverpool defeat: “We conceded goals too easily”

Granit Xhaka was disappointed with the way Bayer Leverkusen conceded goals in their 4-0 defeat at Liverpool.

Bayer Leverkusen suffered their second defeat of the season as they went down 4-0 to Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday.

In a post-match interview, Granit Xhaka expressed his frustration at the four goals conceded, all in the space of around 30 minutes in the second half.

“It hurts to lose, whether it is here or elsewhere. We conceded goals too easily,” said Xhaka.

“At this level it’s very easy to concede if you don’t win the 50/50 duels in your own penalty area,” added the Leverkusen midfielder.

Leverkusen captain Lukas Hradecky sympathized with the travelling support.

“The goals came too quickly. The result is disappointing, especially for our fans. They don’t deserve this.”
