The raft of injuries affecting VfB Stuttgart could see Danish striker Jacob Bruun Larsen return to the capital of Baden-Württemberg. Kicker Magazine Stuttgart correspondent George Moissidis reports that the Swabians are interested in reuniting the Hoffenheim professional with former TSG trainer Sebastian Hoeneß. Bruun Larsen has already been linked with a move to Stuttgart over the summer.

The 26-year-old recently made a strong case for himself with a goal and assist in yesterday’s wild comeback win over RB Leipzig. Despite the fact that he played a crucial role in helping new TSG trainer Christian Ilzer begin his reign with a victory, the Kraichgauer will likely still be keen to offload the seven-times-capped Danish international ahead of his expiring contract.

Larsen actually already served a brief stint in Stuttgart whilst on loan from Borussia Dortmund during the 2017/18 campaign. The loan spell wasn’t an especially memorable one as he made only four appearances. In an article published on Kicker’s website, Moissidis also does take care to note that Hoeneß has plenty of other options on the wing.

German internationals Josha Vagnoman and Chris Führich have made the most of their opportunities to work the flanks. Hoeneß can also turn to Fabian Rieder and potentially young prospect Justin Diehl. The latter scored his inaugural Bundesliga goal yesterday. Hoeneß – as quoted by Moissidis – praised Diehl’s recent progress in training.
