Manchester United are preparing for a new build under Ruben Amorim and it means some of the club’s longest-serving names may leave.
The head coach joined from Sporting CP last month and has so far got off to a decent start. In his last game, a 4-0 win over Everton, United managed to earn a victory with a four-goal margin, something Erik ten Hag never achieved in the Premier League.
Amorim has continued his use of a 3-4-3 system at Old Trafford, which means stylistically, some players may be better served moving on. For instance, Luke Shaw is more of an attacking left-back who does not have much experience as a wing-back.

It adds credence to a recent story from Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg. The journalist wrote on Twitter, formerly known as X: “”David Raum is another player Manchester United have on their radar and on the shortlist for the vacant left-back position.
“Already last summer, there were concrete discussions, including about figures, between #MUFC and Raum. As a left wing-back, the 26 y/o is considered to be a very good fit for Ruben Amorim’s new system.
“His development is being closely monitored. His agency, ROOF, has excellent connections to the Premier League. Contract with RB Leipzig valid until 2027. Currently injured (ankle).”

Shaw’s playing time
Amorim recently went on record to say that Shaw wants to be playing more. He has become an unreliable figure owing to injuries and this has conjured a flurry of transfer speculation.
The coach spoke about the current situation around the 29-year-old’s contract after his side’s win over the Toffees at the weekend, saying that he does know that Shaw wants more playing time.
“We have lots of players returning from injury, Kobbie Mainoo was a little bit of a risk because he was to play just 60 minutes. Luke Shaw wants to play more, but we have to control it, we have to rotate the team. In the future we will have a different system, you can see more of a starting XI.
