Championship boss quits managerial role again – after calling fans ‘THICKOS’ – but will manage club for two more games in bizarre twist to shock resignation

Millwall have confirmed boss Neil Harris is set to leave the club, just days after he labelled a section of their fans ‘thickos’.

The club confirmed Harris’ departure, but in a bizarre twist confirmed he will oversee their next two matches.

Harris will remain in charge for their Championship clash on Wednesday at home to Sheffield United, before his final match as boss away at Middlesbrough on Saturday.

‘At the start of 2024, we found ourselves in a tough spot,’ said James Berylson, Millwall chairman.

Neil came in and along with his coaching staff galvanised the squad.

‘Through action and leadership, he led Millwall on a magnificent run of form, ensuring our return to Championship football this season.

‘I want to thank Neil for all his efforts since returning to the Club and we will be forever grateful to him for that.

‘After discussions with Neil in recent days, he felt it was the right time to step down from the role following the Middlesbrough game and I have accepted his decision.’
