Liverpool have been offered the opportunity to loan out Federico Chiesa in the upcoming transfer window, according to Tutto Atalanta.
The Italy international signed for the Reds from Juventus for £12.5 million last summer and it was considered as a major coup at the time.
However, the attacker has simply failed to impress for the Reds due to injuries. He has managed only 123 minutes in all competitions.
It is now reported that Chiesa could be offered an escape route back to Serie A. Atalanta have expressed an interest in securing his signature.
The Bergamo outfit ended last season on a high with Europa League success.
The club have carried on the good form this campaign and are currently top of the league.
Atalanta don’t want to rest on their laurels and are prepared to make some shrewd signings.
Chiesa has been identified as a top target, considering his huge experience in Serie A.
The Italian could be tempted to return to his homeland amid his struggles at Anfield.
