PSG star gives green light to join Man Utd

Paris Saint-Germain star Nuno Mendes has given the green light to join Manchester United, according to Foot Mercato.

The 22-year-old has entered the last 18 months of his contract with Les Parisiens and he has yet to be convinced over a renewal.

This has spread speculation that he could head for the exit door and reports claim that he is very interested in the idea of joining United.

Mendes started his career at Sporting CP where he was managed by Ruben Amorim. The left-back is keen on a reunion with the Portuguese.

Despite this, PSG are unlikely to sanction his sale this winter.

The club have not given up on keeping the young defender and they are prepared to make a fresh contract proposal in the near future.

Les Parisiens are willing to continue negotiations with the highly-rated defender and could consider a summer sale if he does not renew.

If Mendes were to arrive at United next summer, it could lead to the departure of Luke Shaw, who has had an injury-plagued career.
