Antony performs his trademark ‘spin’ trick in unveiling video for Real Betis as Spanish side complete loan signing of £86m Man United flop

Real Betis have unveiled Antony after the winger joined on loan from Manchester United for the rest of the season.

The Spanish club showed off their new arrival with a bizarre video which included Antony performing his infamous spin move.

Antony notably performed the skill during United’s Europa League clash against Sheriff Tiraspol in 2022.

Upon joining his new club, Antony addressed the Real Betis supporters with a message.

He said: ‘Hello Beticos. It’s my first time visiting this stadium with this kit. I’m really excited. 

‘It’s a really nice and big stadium. I’m looking forward to playing here and representing you all.

Upon seeing the pitch for the first time, he said: ‘Oh my God, so beautiful. I’m really happy.

‘Let’s go Betis. I’m looking forward to play here.’

Betis will cover 84 per cent of Antony’s £200,000-per-week salary according to Fabrizio Romano. 

Antony will be hoping to reinvigorate his career at Betis following a challenging spell at United.

There was much expectation when Antony arrived at United from Ajax in 2022.

However, the move didn’t go to plan as he struggled to make a consistent impact and eventually fell out of favour.

In total, Antony made 96 appearances for United and scored 12 goals, while he provided five assists.

He won the FA Cup with United last season to add to the League Cup from the previous campaign.

In the long term Antony will be looking to get back in the Brazil squad, having not featured for his nation since March 2023.

However, his immediate aim will simply be to play regularly and perform consistently again following his recent struggles.
