Fortunately for Bayern Munich, Joshua Kimmich didn’t suffer a serious injury in Sunday’s 4-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.
An MRI scan has revealed that it was a tendon irritation – and not a torn muscle – that forced him off on Sunday, Bayern confirmed on Monday.
Kimmich will have to rest for the time being, but it’s not out of the question that he could play against Stuttgart on Friday.
The 30-year-old midfielder has played in every game for the Bavarians this season, scoring once and providing 10 assists in 36 appearances.
