Arsenal to step up interest in Leroy Sané?

Arsenal appear to be a likely destination for Leroy Sané if he can’t agree a new deal with Bayern Munich.

With just three months remaining on his current contract with Bayern Munich, Leroy Sané’s future remains unresolved.

The winger has made his commitment to the Bavarians clear and would even be willing to take a pay cut to stay at the Allianz Arena.

However, it remains unclear whether the parties will be able to reach an agreement – and if they can’t, Arsenal could take advantage of his contract situation.

According to Sport Bild, the Gunners are particularly interested in signing the winger, who would be available on a free transfer.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta knows Leroy Sané from their time together at Manchester City, where the Spaniard was Pep Guardiola’s assistant coach, and is keen to add to his wing options, the report claims.

Whether Sané is offered a new deal at Bayern could also depend on the futures of Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman, who have been linked with moves away from the club too.

Should either or both of them leave the club, it would increase Sané’s chances of staying at Bayern. The problem is that decisions on Gnabry and Coman may not be made until the summer.
