Manchester United and Tyler Dibling‘s other suitors believe that he will be available for around half of his touted €117 million price tag, according to a report.

The Southampton wonderkid has been the only bright spot in what has otherwise been a horrendous campaign for the Saints. Relegated with seven games to spare, the South Coast side will go down as one of the Premier League’s worst-ever teams.

Dibling, however, has enjoyed a breakout campaign and is unlikely to stay on the books at St. Mary’s beyond the season despite his appreciation for Southampton, who, for their part, would like to keep him and tie him down to a long-term deal.

Man Utd are long-standing admirers of the versatile attacker, but according to Ben Jacobs, Tottenham are the side most active in pursuit of the 19-year-old. The Red Devils’ priority is to sign a centre-forward, so their interest in Dibling has cooled somewhat of late.

In recent weeks, it has been claimed that Southampton have slapped a whopping €117m (£100m) price tag on the youngster, but Jacobs reports that Spurs and other suitors feel a fee of around £45m is more realistic and could be enough to strike a deal.

Dibling on £100m rumours

Dibling himself recently addressed the rumours of his supposed £100m price tag, which have found their way into the Southampton dressing room and have become the subject of jokes from his teammates.

“There’s a few nicknames going around. It is all jokes. Nobody takes it seriously. It’s just a number. It’s all fun,” Dibling said. “Rambo [Aaron Ramsdale] loves it to be fair. I’ll miss a shot in training, and he’ll just go ’90 million’ or ’80 million’ as it goes down.

“It’s all good fun, but I’m just trying to practice every day and to get better. I don’t try to think about it and just go in to train every day and work hard and train the best I can.

“At the end of the day, I love Southampton. I have been here since I was eight. It is such a great team, and I am working to do big things with them.”
