According to Sky Sport Italia, Como coach Cesc Fabregas is also on the list of potential Roma replacements for Claudio Ranieri.

The Giallorossi have been working for months to find a boss for next season, knowing that Ranieri only came out of retirement in November to rescue the club and will leave in the summer.

Many names have been mentioned to take over and Sky Sport Italia report the most recent is Fabregas, with contact already taking place to discuss the situation.

The former player helped Como to promotion from Serie B last season and they have already guaranteed their top flight status.

Many clubs have been linked with Fabregas, including Milan, Juventus and RB Leipzig, but Como insist he will remain with them.

When the pair met in March, Ranieri hugged Fabregas in the tunnel and they had a sweet conversation.

“I hope to become like you,” said the former midfielder.

“No, you don’t have to hope for that, you need to hope for better. I tell you that from the heart,” replied Ranieri.

The Spaniard faces strong competition from other coaches, such as ex-Milan boss Stefano Pioli, Ajax tactician Francesco Farioli and Genoa’s Patrick Vieira.
