Dier to make Monaco move in the summer

By Cameron Smith@_Camjsmith

According to reports from Fabrizio Romano, Eric Dier is set to leave Bayern München on a free transfer at the end of the season to join French Ligue 1 side Monaco.

The 31-year-old has made 18 appearances at the back for champions-elect Bayern, acting as a more than solid backup for Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min-jae ahead of him.

However tonight’s news reveals that the Englishman will be leaving Germany after spending a year and a half in Bavaria with Bayern.

Dier will join AS Monaco, who currently occupy fourth place in Ligue 1 with three matches left, offering the defender a good chance of European football upon his arrival in the Principality on a two-year deal valid until 2027, with an option to extend.

Moving forward into the summer, Bayern may choose to act early and add to their defensive ranks before the Club World Cup begins on June 14th.
