Harry Kane was granted special permission to go onto the pitch at full-time in yesterday’s 3-3 draw between Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig.
According to the DFL, ineligible players are not allowed to enter the stadium from half an hour before to half an hour after the match.
In 2019, for example, Borussia Dortmund had to pay a €10,000 fine because Marco Reus, who was also suspended at the time, was spotted pitch-side during the game.
However, German football’s governing body showed how they can be flexible in certain circumstances, such as Kane’s case
As BILD reports, the league granted an exemption because the England international is in the crucial phase of his first club title – a moment of particular emotional significance.
Bayern Munich applied for Kane to access the pitch after the final whistle yesterday and the Bavarians were subsequently granted this special permission.
