Former Juventus midfielder Alessio Tacchinardi fears the Bianconeri will shoot themselves in the foot in the race for the top four, but feels the team has ‘found its soul again’ under Igor Tudor.

Juventus are involved in a wild race for the top four in Serie A and saw Roma and Lazio reach them at 63 points this past weekend.

The Old Lady drew 1-1 against direct rivals Bologna on Sunday, but they have another big game against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico next weekend.

“I’m confident about the match against Lazio because I see a Juventus that has found its soul again with Tudor,” Tacchinardi told Gazzetta via TMW.

“The Bianconeri must win the showdown against their direct rivals on Saturday and keep pushing in the last two games against Udinese and Venezia. The fight for the top four will be intense until the very end.”

Tacchinardi is not only a former Juventus midfielder, but remains a big fan of the Bianconeri, so when he was asked about the team he fears the most in the race for the top four, he replied smartly: “Roma are on a positive run and in the best form, but the team I fear the most is Juventus.”

The former Italy international also has clear ideas on which player will make the difference in the last three games of the campaign.

“I’m betting on Thuram. He’s not a vocal leader, but his movement inspires his teammates on the pitch,” he said.

“Tudor brings out the best from players who have power and explosiveness. Thuram has all it takes to make the difference with his fifty-meter runs.”

Tudor will also need goals from his centre-forward, Randal Kolo Muani and Dusan Vlahovic.

“Kolo Muani is talented but needs to become more ruthless in front of the goal,” Tacchinardi concluded.

“I’m convinced that Igor will also manage to get Vlahovic scoring again in the final three matches.”
