With Ralph Hassenhüttl dismissed, interim head coach Daniel Bauer will guide VfL Wolfsburg into battle against TSG Hoffenheim tomorrow night.

Bauer faced the media in his press conference this morning where he expressed his excitement at taking over the reins from the dugout.

“It’s about football, and that has been my great passion for many years. And it’s a lot of fun to be able to prove myself at this level and support the club. We’re looking forward to tomorrow.

“The final 180 minutes of the season are all about ‘wanting to win.’ We want to achieve a positive turnaround and finish the season on a high note.

Bauer also offered a squad update regarding availability for the clash with the Sinsheim club, but it appears there will be no fresh faces returning just yet.

“Marius Müller was ill all week and will be out. Mattias Svanberg, Kevin Paredes, Mathys Angely, and Bennit Bröger are on the right track, but aren’t yet available for tomorrow.

“Sebastian Bornauw should also ideally return to full fitness next week,” he added.
