Borussia Dortmund are keeping a close eye on FC Copenhagen right-back Rodrigo Huescas, according to Bild.

The German outlet claims that BVB are among three clubs interested in the 21-year-old, alongside West Ham United and Olympique Marseille.

Dortmund scouts first noticed Huescas two years ago while he was still playing for Cruz Azul in his native Mexico.

He eventually made the move to Denmark last summer for a reported fee of €1.85 million and has since established himself as a regular starter in the Copenhagen lineup.

The young defender could be brought in to strengthen Dortmund’s defensive depth, particularly if Ramy Bensebaini – who has been linked with a move to Marseille – leaves the club.

Huescas has also drawn attention off the pitch – for the wrong reasons. The Mexican was recently convicted of reckless driving in Denmark after being caught speeding at 111 km/h in a 50 km/h zone while driving without a valid license. He was ultimately fined and sentenced to 20 days in prison without parole.
