Karim Benzema has purchased a new £138,000 luxury car as he continues to enjoy life in Saudi Arabia on a mega-money deal.
Benzema, 37, is one of the greatest strikers of his generation and scored 354 goals in 648 appearances for Real Madrid.
However, in 2023, he swapped the Bernabeu for the Middle East when he signed a three-year deal worth £258million with Saudi Pro League (SPL) side Al-Ittihad.
After a slow start to life in Saudi, Benzema has thrived this season, scoring 21 goals in 28 SPL games to help Al-Ittihad win the title.
The Frenchman has always shown a passion for cars during his career and has owned several high-end vehicles.
This includes a Bugatti Chiron, which has a remarkable horsepower of 1,500 and can go from 0 to 100mph in just 2.5 seconds.
Al-Ittihad star Karim Benzema has purchased a new £138,000 car in the form of the BMW M5
The M5 is a sedan, but it is still referred to as an ‘everyday supercar’ and can reach 189.5mph
Benzema owns a fleet of supercars and regularly shows them off in photos on social media
Benzema’s social media pages are often full of photos of three more supercars he owns; a Lamborghini Revuelto, a Ferrari Purosangue and an elegant Rolls-Royce Spectre plug-in hybrid.
But now, the 37-year-old has a new vehicle for his garage in the form of a BMW M5.
This is less luxurious than the other three cars given it is a sedan, but it is still referred to as an ‘everyday supercar’.
The M5 boasts a powerful engine and a twin-turbo V8 that can reach extremely high speeds.
Despite being more of a family car in terms of its space, the M5 remains a high-end vehicle that is also extremely adaptable.
It has a horsepower of 725, meaning it can go from 0 to 100mph in 3.5 seconds and it is able to reach speeds of 189.5mph.
The M5 is priced at £138,000, but given Benzema’s £86m-a-year salary equates to around £230,000-a-day, it means he still has a whopping £92,000 left of his daily salary.
Benzema earns around £230,000-a-day meaning the car purchase barely touches his salary
Benzema helped lead Al-Ittihad to the Saudi Pro League title last week after a brilliant season
Meanwhile, Benzema captains Al-Ittihad and they confirmed the title with a 3-1 victory against Al-Raed on Thursday.
They are coached by former France boss Laurent Blanc and Al-Ittihad’s squad includes the likes of N’Golo Kante, Fabinho, Moussa Diaby and Steven Bergwijn.
The Saudi side have two more league games to finish their campaign, while they also face Al-Qadsiah in the King’s Cup final later this month.
