Chelsea favourites to sign 22yo striker before Man Utd

Chelsea are the front-runners ahead of Manchester United to sign Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap, according to Daily Mail.

The 22-year-old had a good debut campaign with the Tractor Boys, scoring 12 goals from 36 Premier League appearances.

He can leave for just £30 million after their top-flight relegation and reports claim that the Blues are favourites to land his signature.

United were also in the mix earlier this campaign, but the failure to qualify for Europe has put them out of contention for the striker.

Chelsea have already spoken with the player’s entourage. They are now confident of securing his transfer in the coming days.

Delap is expected to report for Euro duty with the England Under 21s soon. He wants his future sorted before the tournament.

We won’t be surprised if an agreement is reached this month.

Chelsea are determined to complete most of their transfer business before they participate in the Club World Cup in the United States.
