Hugo Ekitike’s strong season at Eintracht Frankfurt has caught the attention of several top European clubs, with Liverpool now emerging as a serious contender for the French striker’s signature.

According to Sky Germany, the Reds have already initiated talks. New head coach Arne Slot and sporting director Michael Edwards are leading the charge, with Liverpool reportedly adopting a smart and strategic approach, similar to their pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz.

At this stage, no formal offer has been made to Eintracht Frankfurt. However, Chelsea are believed to be Liverpool’s main rivals for the 22-year-old’s services.

Eintracht’s sporting director, Markus Krösche, remains firm on his valuation: the Bundesliga side are holding out for €100 million.

Ekitike, who joined Frankfurt from Paris Saint-Germain, has impressed in the 2024/25 campaign, becoming one of the Bundesliga’s most sought-after forwards.

A high-stakes bidding war could be on the horizon as Premier League giants circle one of Germany’s standout attacking talents.
