Wesley Sneijder believes that the situations surrounding Jose Mourinho and Simone Inzaghi heading into their Champions League finals with Inter are ‘not the same’, despite reports linking the current Nerazzurri boss with a move away, like it was in 2010
Inter will take on Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final in Paris at the Allianz Arena in Munich on Saturday evening.
While he insists his thoughts are fully focused on the impending Champions League final, there are ongoing rumours linking head coach Inzaghi with a move away from San Siro. Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal have reportedly tabled a lucrative contract offer worth around €30m per season in wages.
Sneijder on Inzaghi and Mourinho comparisons: ‘I don’t think it’s the same situation’

Despite the rumours linking Inzaghi with a move away from Inter, Sneijder insists that this is not the same situation as 2010, when Mourinho left to join Real Madrid immediately after claiming the treble.
“I don’t think it’s the same situation as Jose in 2010, I don’t expect the same decision,” Sneijder said in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I hope he still stays because the cycle isn’t over yet, but we have to respect the choice of the individual, as it was before and as it is now.
“We never know what is in people’s hearts and heads, especially for a coach who has been under constant pressure for four seasons. Great, but difficult. Inter are always bigger than any coach.
“Aside from any result and what he wants to do in the future, he has brought the club back to its highest point, permanently, where all the best teams in the world are. You can’t buy respect, but Simone has the respect of the entire football world.”

Sneijder was also asked what he made of Mourinho’s recent joke that he did not want Inter to win the treble this season, as that would mean he is no longer the only coach to have achieved that feat in Italy.
“He also said that he hopes Inter win the Champions League, that’s the most important part of his message,” Sneijder said in response.
“15 years have gone by, time flies. We don’t want to be the last Nerazzurri side to have the cup in their hands. Success for the boys today would not take away anything from what we have done. Everyone has to write their own story.”
