Chelsea are expected to make a renewed offer to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The west London giants were determined to sign the Englishman before the Club World Cup, but were unable to seal an agreement.
The Blues made three separate bids for the attacker. Their highest proposal of €55 million was immediately snubbed by Dortmund.
Dortmund responded with a counter offer of €65m, but the Blues are optimistic of signing the 20-year-old for a lesser fee.
The club believe the price tag was influenced by the Club World Cup, and Gittens could be signed for less later this summer.
The England youth international has already agreed personal terms with the Blues. A deal could be straightforward if the fee is finalised.
Aside from a winger, the Blues are keen on landing another striker despite purchasing Liam Delap from Ipswich Town this summer.
They are looking at different names. Hugo Ekitike is one of those. The Frenchman is reportedly valued at €100m by Eintracht Frankfurt.
