Nico Williams is reportedly leaning towards Barcelona over Bayern, but Max Eberl says he’s not heard anything about that.

With Bayern Munich looking to sign a new winger, Athletic Club and Spain star Nico Williams has emerged as their top priority.

However reports have emerged that the 22-year-old is leaning towards a move to Barcelona.

Speaking after Bayern’s emphatic 10–0 victory over Auckland City in the FIFA Club World Cup, board member for sport Max Eberl was tight-lipped when asked about the player’s intentions.

“I don’t know anything about that,” Eberl said briefly, declining to go into further detail.

While Bayern pursue reinforcements out wide, one of their current wingers could be on the way out.

Kingsley Coman, who starred against Auckland with two goals and an assist, is being linked with a move away, with clubs from Saudi Arabia said to be among his suitors.

“A lot is written about the cut list or players for sale. But they’re still FC Bayern players,” Eberl remarked.

He emphasized that Coman is an exceptional player who “had a good season last year with all his abilities.”

Crucially, Coman is currently injury-free.

“That’s the most important thing with ‘King’,” Eberl added.
