Bayern to approach Benfica’s Araújo should Kim depart, BILD reports

Germany’s popular tabloid suggests Die Rekordmeister are keeping tabs on the Benfica defender.

Bayern have Benfica’s Tomás Araújo on their shortlist as a potential replacement for Kim Min-Jae, per BILD’s latest report.

The Bavarian club would be willing to sell the Korean defender should a suitable offer arrive over the summer.

However, Araújo is under a lengthy contract at Benfica which runs until 2029, so he wouldn’t come at a cheap price.

For now, Bayern will wait and see how Kim is faring in the coming weeks – but in the case of a departure, Araújo would be a serious option.

The 23-year-old enjoyed a fine campaign in Liga Portugal last season, featuring in 28 games whilst finding the net once and providing 2 assists.
