Paul Pogba joins AS Monaco

Former Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has officially made his return to football by signing as a free agent with AS Monaco after his doping ban.

The 32-year-old France international had terminated his contract with Juventus by mutual consent in November 2024.

He underwent his medical tests over the last 24 hours and put pen to paper on a two-year contract, worth a reported €2m per season, and will wear the Number 8 jersey.

Pogba had double Juventus experience

He had made his comeback to Juve in the summer of 2022 as a free agent from Manchester United, six years after completing a then world record breaking transfer worth €105m from Turin to Old Trafford.

It was the second time that Pogba had joined Juve for free from Manchester United, having done the same as a teenager in 2012.

His second Juventus spell was ruined by a series of injuries, then failing a standard drug test in August 2023.

He was initially given a four-year ban for doping in February 2024, which was reduced on appeal to 18 months in October 2024.

Overall, he made 190 competitive appearances for Juventus and 233 in the Manchester United jersey.
