Thomas Frank makes bold call as new Tottenham boss ‘says yes’ to summer transfer

New Tottenham boss Thomas Frank will soon lead his squad into pre-season and the Lilywhites will look to mould his squad in the transfer window ahead of the Premier League season

Thomas Frank has provided the green light for Richarlison to leave Tottenham this summer. And a move away from the Premier League looks likely for the Brazil international.

The 28-year-old scored five goals in 24 appearances for Spurs last term as a series of injuries saw him struggle to make an impact under Ange Postecoglou. Richarlison will hope to have a more successful season to press his case for next summer’s World Cup squad.

Spurs prefer a permanent exit for the forward, though a loan deal could be an option. And according to reports, Galatasaray are interested in securing Richarlison’s signature.

The Turkish Super Lig side want to turn Victor Osimhen’s loan move into a permanent one after his successful season in Istanbul, but it appears a deal will be difficult. The Nigeria international has been linked to the likes of Manchester United as Napoli look to facilitate his exit.

Richarlison could emerge as a likely candidate to land at Galatasaray as a result as they attempt to retain their title. It would also provide the former Watford star with Champions League football.

It is claimed that David Moyes has rejected the opportunity to do a deal for Richarlison and Everton are not interested in a return to Merseyside for the Spurs ace. Instead they have Callum Wilson, who has seen his Newcastle deal expire, on their radar to replace Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Richarlison’s potential exit comes as Tottenham look to strengthen their attacking options. The north London have already seen Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo declare his preference to move to Manchester United despite the Lilywhites making a bid.

United have already seen two offers rejected however and Brentford chief Phil Giles has said Mbeumo will only leave the club should the Bees’ asking price be met. Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: “There’s significant interest in Bryan.

“I think it’s been well publicised and spoken about, his preference. I think from what I understand he’s also, if needs be, happy to stay at Brentford next year as well.

“Let’s see on that. I think our position is that he had an unbelievable season last season, we expected interest in him. If that deal’s right, there’s a deal to do, if not then he stays.

“We’ve spoken to Bryan and his representatives. It’s not a given that he’s going to depart this summer. There is interest. He had a great season last season so it’s inevitable there’s going to be interest in him.
