Manchester United have entered talks with the representatives of Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu regarding a summer move, according to Sport Mediaset.
The Mancunian giants are in the transfer market for a new defensive midfielder, and Calhanoglu has emerged as a potential target over the past 24 hours.
The Turkey international prefers to move to the Super Lig with Galatasaray, but the club can’t meet the reported asking price for the former AC Milan star.
Galatasaray are willing to offer around €15 million for the 31-year-old, but Inter are adamant that they want at least €40 million to sanction his sale.
Amidst this, it is reported that United have made contact with the player’s agents. They are not alone with Fulham and Saudi clubs also involved.
We believe the speculation has been driven by the Nerazzurri in order to persuade Galatasaray to make an improved bid for the wantaway star.
Calhanoglu is quite clear that he wants to join the Istanbul giants.
