Thursday’s reports claim that Dusan Vlahovic is ‘prepared’ to sit out of the 2025-26 season in order to facilitate a move away from Juventus as a free agent next summer.
Juventus are actively looking to sell Vlahovic this summer. The Serbian is already the highest earner in Serie A, and is set to have his salary increased to €12m for the final year of his contract in 2025-26.
With the player now into the final year of his deal, the summer transfer window is the last opportunity for Juventus to recoup a transfer fee, otherwise he is free to negotiate with clubs elsewhere from January onwards unless an unlikely contract extension arrives before then.

The Bianconeri are already making moves to bring in new centre-forwards for the new campaign, and have already wrapped up a deal for free agent Jonathan David. There are also ongoing talks for Victor Osimhen and for Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain again.
Vlahovic, meanwhile, has recently turned down an approach from Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce and a lucrative €20m offer from Al-Ahli.

According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, there will be a meeting in the near future between Vlahovic’s agent and Bianconeri general manager Damien Comolli in an attempt to find a resolution.
The Pink Paper reports that Vlahovic is ‘convinced’ that leaving Juventus as a free agent in the summer of 2026 is the best option available to him on an individual level.
Thursday’s report adds that Vlahovic is ‘prepared to take the risk’ of being frozen out of the Juventus squad for the final year of his contract.
La Gazzetta adds that Vlahovic doesn’t think that Juventus will actually freeze him out, given that they would still have to pay him the remaining €12m on his contract to do so.
La Gazzetta dello Sport adds that Juventus hope the situation will be similar to that of Federico Chiesa last summer, who agreed to join Liverpool on a permanent deal at the end of the transfer window with a year remaining on his contract after being excluded from the squad for pre-season.
