Effzeh can confirm the signing of the former German U-21 international.
Tom Krauß has joined 1.FC Köln from fellow Bundesliga club Mainz, Sky Germany has reported.
The 24-year-old has put pen to paper on a one-year loan deal but the cathedral city club have the option to buy him next summer.
Should Effzeh decide to buy the German, they would have to shell out around €3.5 to 4million once the 2025-26 campaign ends.
Furthermore, if Köln manage to avoid relegation, they will be obligated to pay the aforementioned sum regardless.
Krauß spent the bulk of last season on loan at VfL Bochum, for whom he made 14 appearances, before they were relegated.
