Inter are setting their sights on Palmeiras and Colombia international midfielder Richard Rios, according to reports in Italy, but face strong Premier League competition.

The Nerazzurri are looking around for alternatives to Hakan Calhanoglu, who is eager for a transfer to his beloved Galatasaray this summer.

Calciomercato.it stipulate that one of the most intriguing names on their list is that of Rios, who has impressed during the FIFA Club World Cup in America.

The 25-year-old had already been linked with both Milan and Roma in the past, but now Inter see him as a player with similar characteristics to Atalanta star Ederson.

There is a release clause set in his Palmeiras contract for €100m, but these reports suggest that the club would be prepared to listen to offers in the region of €28-30m.

They have already turned down proposals lower than that from FC Porto at circa €22m and West Ham United for €25m, so there is plenty of competition.

More Premier League interest is bound to grow, including Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

As with so many Brazilian players, his ownership is a complicated business, with Palmeiras owning 70 per cent of his contract, the other 30 per cent split between Flamengo and his agents.
