Matriciani eager to stay at Schalke, Lasme faces exit door

The Lippstadt native wants to battle for his place with Die Knappen. Meanwhile, Bryan Lasme looks like he will depart this summer.

According to exclusive information from RTL/ntv and sport.de, Henning Matriciani is likely to stay at Schalke.

Matriciani, who was loaned to third-division club Waldhof Mannheim last season, has a contract until 2026 and wants to fulfill it.

The main reason behind this is his hefty salary, which the 25-year-old probably wouldn’t earn anywhere else in this form.

His cult status from the Gelsenkirchen club’s 2022-23 relegation season and aging physical appearance also plays a role. 

There, he won the hearts of the fans with his self-sacrificing performances despite limited footballing opportunities.

In the last campaign, the German made 33 appearances while providing a goal and an assist for Waldhof Mannheim in the 3.Liga. 

The situation is different for attacking player Bryan Lasme who is willing to leave the club, according to RTL/ntv insights.

Despite his unsuccessful loan to Grasshoppers Zurich, several clubs are even willing to pay a transfer fee for Lasme.
