Josh Sargent is very likely to move to Die Wölfe, with the club wanting a deal to be made over the weekend.

VfL Wolfsburg are ready to take the next step regarding a transfer for 25-year-old American forward Josh Sargent.

Sky journalist Florian Plettenberg reports that the club has reached a verbal agreement with Sargent himself.

The deal between VfL Wolfsburg and Norwich City FC would reportedly be in the €20 million range. It has also been reported that Wolfsburg want the deal to be completed over the weekend, just one week before they face 1. FC Magdeburg in their first pre-season game.

Sargent is currently contracted to Norwich until 2028, but there is a possibility that his new contract with Wolfsburg will last until the summer of 2029.

This would end Sargent’s time with the Canaries after four years in England, where he scored 46 goals over 124 league matches (44 in 98 in EFL Championship, 2 in 26 in Premier League).

It would also mark his return to the Bundesliga; he developed his skills in the SV Werder Bremen academy and played for the first team between 2018 and 2021, scoring 11 goals over 70 matches in the German top-flight.
