Former Milan striker Dejan Savicevic has described his “hope Milan sign” Juventus outcast Dusan Vlahovic, “for his sake and for Allegri’s”, amid rumours linking the Serbian forward with a move away from the Bianconeri this summer.

Speaking in an interview with the Gazzetta dello Sport, with quotes via TMW, Savicevic praised Vlahovic as “young, 25-years-old, strong, with a good eye for goal and plenty of room for improvement.”

“Allegri is a great coach, the results speak for themselves”

Savicevic was full of praise for new Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri, saying “I like Max. And not only because he came back to coach Milan. I made my Serie A debut against him, in Pescara in 1992. We won 5-4 but Allegri scored his first goal against us. Right at the start. It was a crazy match and I remember it very well. Franco Baresi scored two own-goals in span of four minutes. Incredible. Then Marco Van Basten, which was less incredible and more expected, scored three goals, in his usual fashion.”

Allegri returned to Milan this summer to begin his second spell as head coach of the club. The Italian previously spent four years at the club from 2010 to 2014, where he led the Rossoneri to the Scudetto in his first season.

“I hope Milan sign Vlahovic” – Savicevic

Back on the topic of Dusan Vlahovic, Savicevic praised the “very good things he had done with Fiorentina and also, I believe, with Allegri at Juve.”

When asked if the Serbian could join Milan, the former striker responded “Who knows! But is he going? Are Juventus letting him go? I hope Milan sign him, for his sake and also Allegri’s.”

Juventus signed Vlahovic from Fiorentina in January 2022 for a reported fee in the region of €70 million, plus €10 million in bonuses. However, the Serbian has struggled to emulate his successes in Viola colours at the Old Lady and last season the striker scored just 10 goals in 29 appearances.
