The west London outfit have introduced a revolutionary transfer policy over the past few years and this has seen them complete a huge number of signings and sales.

The majority of their transfer business has revolved around signing young players, with Chelsea eager to build a squad capable of challenging for major honours for decades to come.

The BlueCo consortium, headed up by Boehly and Clearlake Capital, have also purchased Ligue 1 club Strasbourg and this has allowed Chelsea to buy youngsters and send them to France on loan.

How many players have Chelsea signed under the BlueCo consortium

Chelsea have signed a total of 51 players for a transfer fee since the arrival of Boehly and Clearlake Capital in 2022, in addition to the arrivals of Tosin Adarabioyo and Diego Moreira on Bosman deals.

Enzo Fernandez is the most expensive of those 51 players and he remains Chelsea’s all-time record signing, courtesy of his €121 million move from Benfica in January 2023.

His midfield partner Moises Caicedo is the second-priciest Chelsea transfer under Boehly, after arriving from Brighton & Hove Albion for an initial €116m, and Wesley Fofana stands in third place after joining the Blues from Leicester City for €80.4m in 2022.

During the first transfer window of the Boehly era, Chelsea spent big on the likes of Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly and the aforementioned Fofana, while the west London giants continued their immense spending in the 2023 January transfer window with seven new arrivals.

In total, they spent €630.3m throughout the 2022-23 season – the most any club has ever spent in a single campaign.

Mauricio Pochettino’s arrival in the dugout coincided with yet another busy summer, with Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson, Cole Palmer, Axel Disasi and Caicedo among the stars to secure a Stamford Bridge switch ahead of the 2023-24 season.

However, Pochettino only lasted one season in charge and Enzo Maresca was appointed as his replacement in 2024. Pedro Neto and Joao Felix were the headline additions that summer, while Chelsea also picked up several highly-rated youngsters, including Marc Guiu from Barcelona and Aaron Anselmino from Boca Juniors.

In 2025, Chelsea’s spending continued yet again as they added the likes of Jamie Gittens, Joao Pedro, Liam Delap and Estevao Willian to their squad.

In total, Chelsea have spent €1.661 billion on permanent signings since Boehly and Clearlake Capital replaced Roman Abramovich as owners in 2022.
