Tottenham in talks over Palhinha loan
By Cameron Smith@_Camjsmith

As per reports from The Athletic, Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with Bayern München over a loan deal for midfielder Joao Palhinha.

The Athletic reported on July 22 that the Portuguese midfielder was available this summer, with Spurs favouring a loan deal rather than a permanent one.

Tottenham and Bayern have already cooperated this summer, with the Europa League champions signing Mathys Tel for up to €45 million.

Palhinha only signed for Bayern from Fulham last summer; however, he made just 25 appearances in Bavaria, with just 10 starts.

Vincent Kompany often favoured Joshua Kimmich, Aleksandar Pavlovic, Konrad Laimer and Leon Goretzka over the Portugal international, and the arrival of Hoffenheim prospect Tom Bischof has not helped Palhinha’s cause when it comes to getting regular minutes under Kompany this term.

Palhinha would provide excellent quality and experience as Spurs prepare for their return to the Champions League, and a surge up the standings following a disappointing 17th place finish under Ange Postecoglu.
