Baumgart confirms Trimmel will remain Union Berlin captain

Christopher Trimmel will keep the captain’s armband at 1. FC Union Berlin for the upcoming season.

1. FC Union Berlin coach Steffen Baumgart has confirmed that Christopher Trimmel will continue as captain for the 2025/26 season.

“Trimmel remains captain because he embodies this club more than anyone else,” Baumgart is quoted as saying by Bild.

At the age of 38, Trimmel has played for the German capital club for over 11 years.

Rani Khedira, Danilho Doekhi and Frederik Rønnow have been named vice-captains.
