Florian Wirtz is the most expensive signing of the 2025 summer transfer window so far, courtesy of his €125 million move from Bayer Leverkusen to Liverpool.

The Germany international established himself as one of the world’s best players during his time at the BayArena and he has left the club having registered 122 goal contributions in 197 first-team appearances.

Liverpool also boast the second-most expensive signing of this summer after shelling out €95m on Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike.

In a surprising third place is Victor Osimhen, who has completed a stunning €75m transfer to Galatasaray, with the Turkish giants obliterating their €18m transfer record to sign the Nigerian permanently.

Despite a limited budget, Man Utd have signed the fourth and fifth-most expensive players this summer in Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, who have joined for €75m and €74.2m, respectively. Mbeumo’s fee can rise to over €80m due to bonuses.

Martin Zubimendi’s €70m move to Arsenal makes him the sixth-most valuable player of the 2025 summer window. The Gunners paid more than his €60m release clause to get better payment terms.

Luis Diaz has left Liverpool for Bayern Munich, also for €70m, while Mateo Retegui has become the most expensive Italian ever, courtesy of his €68.25m move from Atalanta to Al-Qadsiah.

Viktor Gyokeres finally joined Arsenal after a lengthy saga in late July. The Gunners paid an upfront fee of €65.8m, which is good for ninth place.

Mohammed Kudus completes the top 10 after joining Tottenham from West Ham for €63.8m. Joao Pedro commanded a similar fee (€63.7m) when he traded Brighton for Chelsea.

Dean Huijsen and Anthony Elanga both commanded north of €61m with their respective moves to Real Madrid and Newcastle, while Jamie Gittens and Noni Madueke both cost €56m. The latter, now an Arsenal player, has been replaced by the former at Chelsea.

Tijjani Reijnders joined Man City for €55m to take number 16 on this list. Alvaro Carreras, meanwhile, returned to Real Madrid for €50m.

Milos Kerkez to Liverpool (€46.9m), Franco Mastantuono to Real Madrid (€45m) and Alex Baena to Atletico Madrid (€42m) complete the 20 most-expensive transfers of the summer.
